One thing we love about Houston...visitors! We love it when people come to visit. Whether it be Kelsey, Mom and Dad Rogers, friends, or anyone else. It is always a special treat though when we get visitors who come from out of state. We started 2014 off with some really fantastic visitors...Mom and Dad Farrell! It is super nice that Dad can choose the people he works with, and conveniently has found people to do business with in Houston/Baytown. These are business trips that we hope he makes more of!

Welcome to Houston! We love our winter walks. Happy Birthday Mom!
We were honored to be able to spend Mom's birthday with her in Houston. It was especially nice because it meant we got some delicious crepes for breakfast, and delicious pecan pie instead of cake! Brandon had to work the following day, but Mom, Dad, and I had a great time going down to NASA and taking a tour. We learned a lot and had a great time. We think our nieces and nephews would have a great time visiting NASA if they were to come visit us (hint, hint...)

Robonaut! Apparently this guy can turn pages and text message faster than I can. He is used at the International Space station to do some of the outside work that would require too much oxygen use and time intensive labor for the astronauts.

That is one VERY big engine!
Dad invited Mom and I to drive over to Baytown with him while he went to Bayer to do a tour of their facilities and talk with his contact there that he does business with. Mom and I dropped him off and then went out to a nature center/park nearby. We got a kick out of this nature center. Baytown is known for all of it's chemical plants and so it was just a bit ironic that in this city of chemical plants you have a fairly large nature park (though it is good that they are trying to preserve some of the natural habitat whilst not doing so hot for the rest). There was a sign saying that pregnant women and children under 12 should not eat any of the fish from the bay there. Our thought was that if you get such a warning, that nobody should probably eat that fish. However, they did have a really neat play area for kids that they had put a bunch of music making devices and 'explore nature' toys to play with. All in all, we had a great visit over those few days!

These old tanks were painted and cut at different levels. The bottoms were used elsewhere as drums.
